Copa Combate women’s bout to broadast on Telemundo too

On November 11 Telemundo, America’s second largest Spanish television network, will broadcast a live MMA event for the first time. Live from Cancun, Mexico, fans will get to see the semi-finals and finals of the $100,000, one-night, 8-man bantamweight tournament.

In addition to the tournament, Telemundo will stream the co-main event, a showdown between undefeated knockout artist Melissa ‘Super Melly’ Martinez and Gloria ‘Gloriosa’ Bravo. Martinez, 20, hails from Mexico City, Mexico while Bravo, 31, is from Santiago, Chile

“This is a phenomenal addition to an already stellar and historic fight card created for the Telemundo broadcast television platform,” said Combate Americas CEO Campbell McLaren. “With the incredibly relentless and hard-hitting action we have seen from the women of Combate Americas, it is only fitting that we showcase a matchup between two of the sport’s brightest and fastest rising female stars like Melissa Martinez and Gloria Bravo on the ‘COPA COMBATE’ platform.”

Melissa Martinez scores a knockout in Combate 15:

The entire event will stream on TelemundoDeportes.com and the Telemundo Now app. The live broadcast on Telemundo will begin at 11:35 p.m. ET.
